veetweet
Surf the endless stream of video clips posted on Twitter
veetweet finds the latest YouTube videos posted on Twitter and plays them as an endless stream of 10 second clips.
It's like giving a 3 year old a quadruple latte and the TV remote. The effect is bizarre yet strangely compelling.
These aren't just the videos that people are watching... These are the videos that people are telling everyone they are watching. After watching it for hours, we're not sure if that makes it better or worse.
We hope you enjoy wasting your time with veetweet. If you have any questions, comments or other feedback please use the comment area below.
For those interested in how these things work, veetweet was built using the Twitter API, the YouTube scriptable video player and the YouTube video data API. The server code is written in Ruby with help from the Daemon Kit library and the Sinatra framework. The browser logic is built on jQuery and the easing, json and json-p plug-ins. Flash injection is handled by SWF Object.

“It’s a hypnotic experience and great way to stumble upon videos you’d probably never have found otherwise… if it doesn’t drive you insane first…”
